• Terra Nova is adventurous, nurturing and all-round, and aims to give children a lively prep education that builds confidence as well as strong next-step preparation.

• Will suit families seeking a country prep with boarding, lots of breadth and a clear destination-school mindset.

Admissions at Terra Nova School should appeal to families seeking a classic country prep with a broad day-and-boarding life and a clear focus on the years before senior-school entry. The school should suit parents who value space, variety and a prep culture that combines warmth with serious next-step planning.

Scholarships and bursaries are both meaningful parts of the Terra Nova proposition. The school publicly offers Year 7 scholarships across several disciplines and publishes a bursaries policy that allows for means-tested support of up to full fees, so access and recognition are clearly being taken seriously.

The overall picture is traditional, busy and confidently prep-school in feel, with scholarships, bursaries and boarding all visible parts of the offer. Parents should still visit because the key question is whether the school’s balance of freedom, activity and academic expectation feels right for their child.

Assessment at Terra Nova is purposeful and closely tied to prep-school progression, with staff monitoring core attainment while also identifying pupils who may be ready for scholarship consideration in Year 7. Parents should expect a school that balances broad prep-school life with deliberate preparation for the next stage.
