• Swanbourne House is energetic, nurturing and aspirational, and aims to combine strong preparation with the confidence and independence children need for the next step.

• Will suit families seeking a classic prep with boarding options, a lot of activity and a clear senior-school destination mindset.

Admissions at Swanbourne House School are purposeful and should appeal to families wanting a country prep with both day and boarding options and a clear focus on the years before senior-school entry. The school should suit parents who value breadth, space and a school culture that takes 11+ and especially 13+ transition seriously.

Scholarships are part of the Swanbourne story rather than an afterthought, and the school publishes dedicated information about them. Families interested in awards should ask directly about the current categories and whether these are linked mainly to internal recognition, senior-school applications or both.

The overall picture is traditional, busy and strongly prep-school in feel, with boarding, enrichment and preparation for public-school entry all visible parts of the offer. Parents should still visit because the key question is whether the balance of warmth, pace and destination focus feels right for their child.

Assessment at Swanbourne House is regular, carefully tracked and tied to preparation for the next stage, with staff keeping a close eye on core attainment while also building confidence, independence and readiness for 11+ and 13+ entry. Parents should expect a prep that monitors progress closely without losing the broader boarding-and-enrichment flavour.
