• Sunningdale is traditional, personal and character forming, and aims to help boys grow in confidence and readiness within a close school community.

• Will suit families seeking a smaller traditional boys' prep where boarding, grounds and strong senior-school preparation all remain central attractions.

Admissions at Sunningdale School should appeal to families seeking a family-run boys' prep with boarding, strong tradition and a notably personal scale. The school should suit parents who value a classic prep-school route, substantial grounds and a setting where boys can be prepared seriously for senior school without feeling lost in a very large institution.

At prep level the scholarships story is most visible through the schools boys move on to and any awards secured there, though families should ask directly about bursary support if needed. The stronger draw is the combination of boarding tradition, personal scale and strong preparation.

The overall picture is traditional, intimate and quietly confident, with the school describing itself as a family-run boys' prep set in 25 acres and openly highlighting leavers' destinations. Parents should still visit because the key question is whether that traditional style feels charming and supportive for their son in practice.

Assessment at Sunningdale School is structured and prep-school purposeful, with close tracking of academic progress, good preparation for senior-school entry and enough personal knowledge of each boy to keep support targeted. Parents should expect clear expectations alongside a more intimate pastoral feel than some larger rivals.
