• Staines Prep is supportive, practical and child centred, and aims to help pupils grow in confidence and move on to secondary school with secure foundations.

• Will suit families seeking a local co-ed prep with a straightforward admissions path, close teaching and a calm route through the primary years.

Admissions at Staines Preparatory School are straightforward, family facing and should appeal to parents who want a co-educational prep where nursery, lower school and upper school feel part of one joined-up journey. The school should suit families who value a local day-school atmosphere, personal attention and clear preparation for the move to Year 7.

Fees and bursaries are publicly signposted by the school, so families should ask directly about current support and any criteria that apply. At prep level the broader draw is the school's personal feel and steady preparation for the next stage rather than a scholarship-heavy identity.

The overall picture is practical, child centred and easy to access, with a clear admissions route and an emphasis on different stages of the prep years. Parents should still visit because the key question is how the atmosphere, class sizes and expectations feel in practice for their child.

Assessment at Staines Preparatory School is regular, supportive and closely tied to each child's stage, with staff monitoring core skills, confidence and readiness for senior-school transition. Parents should expect clear feedback and a measured approach rather than constant formal pressure.
