• St Wystan's is warm, holistic and partnership driven, and aims to help children flourish academically and personally in a school where they are genuinely known.

• Will suit families seeking a prep where small classes, close relationships and a truly family-like atmosphere make a visible difference.

Admissions at St Wystan's School are warm, visit led and should appeal to families who want a small Derbyshire prep with a genuinely homely atmosphere. The school should suit parents who value personalised teaching, close home-school partnership and a setting where happiness and readiness for secondary school are treated as connected goals.

At prep level the scholarships story is more about where children move on successfully than about major internal awards, though families should ask directly about any bursary or hardship support. The bigger attraction here is the school's personalised, homely feel.

The overall picture is family centred, holistic and notably personal, with small classes and individual attention clearly central to the offer. Parents should still visit because the decisive question is whether the scale and atmosphere feel exactly right for their child and family.

Assessment at St Wystan's School is regular, carefully communicated and closely tailored to individual pupils, with staff tracking core academic progress while also paying real attention to confidence and personal development. Parents should expect clear feedback and a sensible, well-paced run-up to secondary transition.
