• St Johns Beaumont is inclusive, ambitious and strongly child focused, and aims to offer a values-led education in which children are known well and encouraged to thrive.

• Will suit families seeking a day-and-boarding prep with a strong sense of values, serious facilities and enough breadth for children to grow in confidence before senior school.

Admissions at St Johns Beaumont are values led and should appeal to families who want a Catholic day-and-boarding prep with substantial grounds, a strong sense of community and a fuller childhood than some more overtly competitive schools offer. The school should suit parents who value breadth, pastoral warmth and a school that is now clearly co-educational.

Scholarships are a visible part of the St Johns Beaumont offer, with awards in areas such as academics, sport, art and music publicly highlighted, and families should ask about current criteria and any fee assistance. The school also points proudly to senior-school scholarship success among leavers.

The overall picture is spacious, inclusive and confidently prep-school in tone, with 70-plus acres, boarding, Catholic identity and the recent co-educational shift all shaping the proposition. Parents should still visit because the decisive question is whether the school’s combination of tradition and change feels right in practice.

Assessment at St Johns Beaumont is broad and future facing, with enough academic checking to ensure pupils can flourish while still leaving room for the wider qualities the school values in boarding, sport, music and everyday community life. Parents should expect clear monitoring, purposeful preparation and a school that sees development in the round.
