• Sedbergh School is adventurous, full-hearted and all-round, and aims to combine mature pastoral care with a wide range of opportunities across school life.

• Will suit families seeking senior schooling in Sedbergh (La10 5hg) where boarding is available and the offer feels broad rather than narrow.

Admissions at Sedbergh School are broad, coherent and clearly shaped around fit, with clear appeal for families seeking a Cumbrian senior boarding school with a strongly outdoorsy sense of place, full-boarding culture and a broad all-round offer. It should suit parents who value breadth, maturity and a senior-school experience that feels expansive rather than narrowly exam driven.

Scholarships and bursaries are a meaningful part of the wider Sedbergh School proposition, but the bigger draw is a Cumbrian senior boarding school with a strongly outdoorsy sense of place, full-boarding culture and a broad all-round offer rather than awards alone.

The overall picture is substantial and quietly confident, with the school foregrounding a full-boarding model and a Dales-and-Lake-District sense of place. Parents should still visit because the decisive question is whether the school’s tone, scale and boarding mix feel right in practice.
