• Rosemary Works School is creative, caring and community rooted, and aims to combine secure academic foundations with confidence, kindness and readiness for the next stage.

• Will suit families seeking a prep in east London where warmth, day-to-day care and confident preparation for the next stage all matter.

Admissions at Rosemary Works School are warm, visit led and well suited to families seeking a small Hackney prep with a creative, community-rooted feel and a clearly child-centred urban setting. The school should suit parents who value a prep environment where children are known well, stretched thoughtfully and prepared for the next stage without the atmosphere feeling overdone.

Scholarships are not the main draw at this age. Families choose Rosemary Works School for its atmosphere, daily pastoral feel and preparation for the next stage rather than for awards alone, even if later senior-school scholarships may form part of the onward picture.

The overall picture is warm and reassuring, with the school foregrounding a non-selective co-educational primary with nursery provision in a distinctly urban Hackney setting. Parents should still visit because the decisive question is whether the balance of warmth, challenge and day-to-day pace feels right for their child.

Assessment at Rosemary Works School is structured but personable, with clear tracking of progress, careful attention to literacy and numeracy, and enough breadth to avoid making testing the whole story. Parents should expect clear communication, secure monitoring of progress and enough stretch to prepare children well for the next stage without letting assessment dominate everything.
