• North Bridge House Senior Canonbury School is distinctive, personalised and academically ambitious, and aims to help students discover a confident sense of who they are and where they are going.

• Will suit families seeking a smaller Islington senior school where children are challenged but still known well and encouraged to find their own direction.

Admissions at North Bridge House Senior Canonbury School are distinctive and fairly easy to picture, with the school likely to appeal to families who want a smaller London senior and sixth form in a memorable setting rather than a vast campus experience. The strongest attraction is probably the combination of academic ambition and a deliberately personalised approach.

Scholarships are not the main public headline here. Families are more likely to choose Canonbury for its distinctive setting, personalised feel and academic seriousness than for an awards menu.

The overall picture is reassuring, with Ofsted showing the school as Outstanding and current school materials foregrounding its Grade II listed Canonbury setting and 'True North' language about individual direction. Parents should still visit because the crucial question is whether the school's smaller scale and style feel right for their child.
