• Long Close School is warm, calm and quietly ambitious, and aims to combine excellent personal development with secure academic progress across the whole school journey.

• Will appeal to families seeking a calmer all-through independent school where continuity and individual attention matter more than status display.

Admissions at Long Close School are relatively accessible and strongly visit led, with the school likely to appeal to families who want an all-age co-ed environment in Slough rather than a narrow exam factory. The overall feel is designed to reassure parents that children can stay in one school community from the early years through to GCSE.

Scholarships are not the main story here. Families are more likely to choose Long Close for its continuity, small classes and all-through convenience than for a prestige awards culture.

The overall picture is usefully strong: the school says it was fully compliant in its February 2023 ISI inspection and that pupils' academic achievement and personal development were judged excellent. Parents should still visit because the calm atmosphere and individual attention the school promises are best tested in person.
