• Latymer Upper School and Latymer Prep present themselves as academic, rounded and grounded, combining high scholarship with strong pastoral care, diversity and a global outlook.

• Will appeal to families seeking a high-achieving West London co-educational day school with intellectual stretch, strong facilities and a modern liberal tone.

Admissions at Latymer Upper School and Latymer Prep are highly organised, academically selective and especially significant at the 7+, 11+ and 16+ entry points. This is plainly a school for families who want a serious London day school with very high expectations, not a softer version of one.

Scholarships and means-tested bursaries are visibly embedded in the Latymer admissions story, which matters at a school of this profile. The access narrative carries more substance than rhetoric, even though the central draw remains scholarship, breadth and location.

The overall picture is exceptionally strong, with clear statements of ethos, easy-to-find inspection material and a substantial institutional footprint. Parents can do real homework before visiting, so the deciding question is more about fit and tone than about whether the school has enough depth.

Latymer Prep is academically selective at 7+, and the school's published guidance points to assessments in English, creative writing, reasoning and interview rather than a purely informal judgement of readiness. Once in, the prep is designed to stretch pupils securely towards Year 7, but with the key advantage that internal transfer to Latymer Upper does not require a fresh 11+ exam.
