• Kensington Prep School is curious, creative and nurturing and links high expectations with excellent pastoral care through its 'Growing Great Minds' theme.

• Will appeal to families seeking a top London girls' prep that combines serious academic preparation with warmth, confidence and breadth.

Admissions at Kensington Prep School are polished and well organised, with 4+ entry, open days and occasional places giving families several ways into the school. The overall feel is selective in temperament even if the welcome is warm, and well suited to parents seeking a girls' London prep with strong onward preparation.

At prep level, the bigger story is less about internal awards and more about how well girls are prepared for scholarships and awards at their next schools. Families choose Kensington Prep primarily for the quality of teaching, culture and senior-school outcomes rather than for a standalone prep-school awards scheme.

Published information is exceptionally clear, with the school's 'Growing Great Minds' theme, rich curriculum and pastoral warmth all visible from the outset. Parents should still test whether the tone feels energising and humane rather than simply high performing.

Assessment is regular and thoughtfully embedded within the curriculum, with strong attention to both academic stretch and the confidence girls need to thrive. Parents can expect ambitious classroom expectations, careful feedback and preparation for competitive senior-school transitions without an obviously harsh feel.
