• Heath Mount School is ambitious, caring and full of momentum, with broad opportunity, strong pastoral attention and confident onward preparation at the heart of the school's identity.

• Will appeal to families looking for a prep with boarding where children can be known well while still being prepared confidently for the next stage.

Admissions at Heath Mount School are broad based but thoughtfully judged, especially for families deciding whether a prep-with-boarding environment will suit the child. The overall feel is welcoming rather than forbidding, but the school still judges carefully whether pupils will flourish in its pace and culture.

Scholarships, entrance awards and bursary-style support form part of the wider proposition here. Even so, many families choose the school as much for character, opportunity and fit as for any award.

Published information is stronger than at many smaller independents, giving parents a reasonably rounded first impression. For boarding families, the real test is whether the residential side feels genuinely homely as well as well run.

Assessment balances regular classroom tracking with thoughtful preparation for 11+ and 13+ transitions. In a prep of this type, the strongest version feels stretching but not brittle, with staff using evidence of progress to guide next steps and senior-school choices.
