Parents like
- A very strong option for young performers who need specialist training without giving up a serious education.
- The attraction is the dual identity: industry-quality arts provision with a proper school structure around it.
- It suits families who are committed, realistic and willing to let talent shape the school choice.
Admissions
ArtsEd’s admissions process is necessarily more specialised than most senior schools. Families need to be ready for a route shaped by audition and talent as well as academic suitability, which makes this feel much more like entry into a serious performing-arts environment than into a generic London day school.
Scholarships
Financial support is a real part of the picture. The school references support linked to exceptional talent and, particularly in the sixth form, routes such as Dance and Drama Awards, which means families have more than one possible path into a high-cost specialist education.
Bursaries
ArtsEd says there are currently no scholarships or bursaries for new Day School entry. However, its admissions policy and FAQs say bursaries and hardship grants may be available to families of pupils who have already been enrolled for at least two terms.
- Existing Day School pupils after at least two terms; no current Day School entry bursaries are published.
- The school’s Day School admissions policy says means-tested bursaries and hardship grants are assessed in the 10% to 40% range.
- Awards are means-tested, use a detailed financial questionnaire, are decided at the discretion of the Awards Board, and are not guaranteed year to year.
Inspection snapshot
The March 2024 ISI reporting is a meaningful strength. Published materials highlight a significant strength in performing arts, which matters because ArtsEd is asking families to trust that specialist excellence and mainstream education can sit together successfully.
